“Take a deep breath” is exactly what I told myself to do Sunday afternoon after my wife got done jumping her last horse.

I did the math and this is what I came up with: Colleen rode 76 horses in 26 different events including 14 international events and 2 overseas events. That is a lot of stress, not only for the rider, but also for the husband (me) during these events. This was the busiest year by far that Colleen has had in the 15 year that we have been together. It was also the most successful year she has had. I couldn’t be more proud of her for all her hard work I saw her do this year. I must have looked at more online results this year then I ever had. I don’t know about the other husbands out there, but I feel like I jump every jump with her and ride every ride with her.

Now that this season is over it seems really weird that, at least for the next couple months, I’m not going to have to get up at the crack of dawn to either drive to one of Colleen’s events to watch her…or to get up in a hotel room to head to her event…or not get up right away look at the results of an event she is at.

This isn’t the longest blog I have had on HorseHubby.com, but I wanted to come on one more time this year to tell all my fellow horse hubby’s to take a deep breath and enjoy the next couple months because 2016 is coming and it will start right back up soon. For everyone that has read my stories this year, I have really enjoyed writing and telling you all about my experiences.

Here’s to an even better 2016 for everyone out there! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Merry kwanza to everyone! Doesn’t matter what you celebrate, just have a great one. I’ll be back with bigger and better stories in 2016. Happy New Year!
